MANILA, Philippines - Sen. Manny Pacquiao on Monday took the Senate floor to push for the reimposition of capital punishment, saying the Bible permits it and that it will advantage a large number of Filipinos by rebuffing those in the drug exchange.
Pacquiao, in his first benefit discourse as a representative, said that he has recorded a bill to force capital punishment and to build punishments on particular terrible wrongdoings. He said the measure will address the nation's drug issue, which he said "deteriorates each day."

He said that there must be "more teeth in the law punishing drug-related exercises yet let us not neglect the privileges of suspects to a reasonable trial."
